Rules & Regulations

We are honored to host your special day and want to ensure every event runs smoothly and safely. Please review the following rules and regulations, which apply to all clients, guests, and vendors using our venue.

Deposits & Payments

  • Booking Deposit: A non-refundable 30% deposit is required to secure your date.

  • Damage Deposit: A $500 refundable damage deposit is due at booking. It will be returned within 30 days if no damages occur.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your event.

  • Payment Methods: Cash, check, & Zelle are accepted.

Additional Fees

  • Overtime or Services: Any additional charges during the event must be paid within 30 days.

  • Littering Fee: A zero-tolerance policy is in place. Any litter (including cigarette butts, gum, confetti, or debris) left behind will incur a $25 per item fee.

  • Taxes: A 7% sales tax (subject to change) applies to services and products provided.

Venue Use

  • Event Purpose: The venue may only be used for the event stated in your agreement. Charging guests without prior approval is not permitted.

  • Client Responsibility: Clients are responsible for any damage caused by themselves, guests, or vendors. Event insurance may be required.

  • Third-Party Vendors: Vendors must provide all necessary items (linens, chafing dishes, sound systems, décor, etc.). Clients are responsible for vendor setup and teardown.

Liability & Insurance

  • Mariposa Chapel & Events is not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings, or for injuries occurring on the premises.

  • Clients are encouraged (and may be required) to provide event insurance.

Facility Guidelines

  • No Structural Changes: Nails, screws, adhesives, or wall/floor modifications are prohibited. Electrical hookups require prior approval, and cords must be secured.

  • No Flammables: Fireworks, lanterns, and pyrotechnics are prohibited. Candles are not permitted, except for a unity candle during ceremonies (must be supervised and extinguished immediately). Sparklers may be used outdoors only.

Alcohol Policy

  • Beer & Wine: Clients may bring their own, in compliance with all laws. The Client assumes full responsibility for consumption and distribution.

  • Spirits: Permitted only with proper state/local permits, which must be submitted one week prior to the event.

  • Mariposa Chapel & Events reserves the right to refuse service or entry to anyone visibly intoxicated or behaving inappropriately.

Acts of God

  • Mariposa Chapel & Events is not responsible for cancellations or interruptions due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather, natural disasters, or emergencies.

Cancellation Policy

  • Client Cancellations: Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Venue Cancellations: If the venue becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.
